Founded in the early 1900s by Giacomo Scarabelli in Granarolo dell'Emilia, Scarabelli has been shaped by four generations of the same family. What began as a small workshop for furniture-making and cabinetry evolved through the decades.

Today Scarabelli is both a carpentry workshop and a project design studio: two sides of the same coin, rooted in the same values of care, craft and continuity, but speaking to different needs and different clients. Redesigning their digital presence meant giving both identities the space to be understood on their own terms, without breaking the thread that ties them together.

CHALLENGE

Scarabelli came to us with a clear challenge: translate over a century of history and expertise into a website that could represent both the historic carpentry workshop and +Studio, the most recent design practice, without fragmenting the brand or diluting its heritage.

APPROACH AND RESULTS

We started by auditing the existing site: a single-page structure that, while simple, didn't fit to showcase the full breadth of services and portfolio work.

Every decision was weighed against a central question: does this serve the user, and does it move them closer to becoming a client, within the scope of the project's budget?

The result is a site that balances the workshop and the studio: distinct enough to be legible as two offerings, unified enough to read as one coherent, century-old brand. It gives Scarabelli room to grow and +Studio's visibility without disrupting the trust built around the family's craftsmanship, proof that honouring a legacy and moving it forward aren't mutually exclusive.
